The history of this area has started 140 years ago together with the foundation of Sokol Pražský (Gymnastic Union) - founded February 16, 1862. Sokol was founded as the first Czech gymnastic organization and his foundation was initiated by Dr. Miroslav Tyrš and Jindřich Fügner.
